A basic oatmeal cookie with simple white icing.
Recipe type: Cookies
Serves: 4 dozen
Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1½ cups oats, cut up with knife
  • FOR FROSTING:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 T. milk
Instructions
  1. Whip butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined.
  3. Drop onto baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 7-10 min.
  4. FOR FROSTING: Mix powdered sugar and milk until combined. It should have a slightly thin texture. Frost cooled cookies.
