Chocolate Cherry Trifle
Chocolate Cherry Trifle
A trifle made with brownies, chocolate mousse, and cherries.
Recipe type: dessert
  • 1 pan brownies (*see notes)
  • 1 cup + ½ cup whipping cream
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  1. Cut prepared brownies into small chunks.
  2. Whip 1 cup cream, until stiff peaks form. Melt chocolate chips over double boiler. Add half the melted chocolate to the whipped cream, and gently fold chocolate in. Add remaining chocolate and gently fold. Chill this simple mousse for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Whip ½ cup cream with 1 T. sugar until soft peaks form.
  4. In individual dishes, layer several chunks of brownies, pie filling, chocolate mousse, and top with whipped cream.
I used a Betty Crocker brownie mix, and prepared according to package directions, in a 9x13 pan.
