There’s something about pecans that reminds me of my grandfather, because he man loovvves butter pecan. We always had butter pecan ice cream and pecan sandies at their house.
Peanut Butter Bars (No Bake!)
I was actually worried the family would devour it before I had a chance to photograph it, because I left the house for several hours, while the Hippie Chick and I attended a bridal shower. You never know what will happen to those unattended treats in a houseful of boys.
Chocolate Frosted Cookies
The passing of beloved Aunt B was the final excuse I needed to bake chocolate cookies. Well, I never need much of an excuse to make something chocolate. Let me rephrase. It was the final excuse I needed to make the family recipe. Oh, hooray for family recipes that are chocolate!!
Easy Cheesecake {Guest Post}
I learned a lesson from this cheesecake. If I keep a few items on hand, I can always have a quick and easy dessert, no matter how unprepared I feel. Having just a little foresight can save you a ton of worry and stress.
Stuffed Mushroom Cups
Stuffed mushrooms are one of my favorite appetizers. Since I kind of love appetizer recipes, I decided to remake this old classic with a new twist.

Pin ItIt’s the first week of school, and the first week of Health class for my 9th grader. Having been through this class with his older brother last year, I knew a little about what to expect. ”Guess what this means?!” I taunted him. ”We get to talk about sex!” Groan, groan. ”Ahh! Do we [Read On]

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Pin It I’m a sucker for a good romance. Not a cheesy romance, or a silly one, or one that is too dark… it has to be good. Case in point, You’ve Got Mail. It’s a perfect romantic movie, with the right balance of lightheartedness and love. I love the scene when he comes to her [Read On]
