A few things have changed since I made this recipe last year.

We got a dog, for one.  A dog that loves the snow.  And when I say loves, I mean loves the snow.

As in beg-hourly-to-be-let-out love.  As in I’m-not-coming-in-until-someone-plays-in-the-snow-with-me love.  And today?  Roll-my-face-in-it-until-I’m-completely-blind-from-caked-on-snow love.

I’m not going to lie.  We laughed at him and took some pictures before we put him in some warm water.

I mean, a dog that willingly makes himself blind is pretty funny.

A few things have not changed since last year.

Hippie Chick still scrunches up her nose at the cloves, and she still likes to mend broken people-shaped cookies, and Kristen Stewart is still making Twilight movies, and Martha Stewart still has multiple recipes for the same thing.

I’ll let you click through to my original Gingerbread post and check out how much my writing and photography have changed since last year, too.  Let’s just say that consistent, incremental changes add up to amazingly different results.  Oh, and the recipe is there too.

Hope your year has seen some wonderful, amazing changes, too.

Not stupid at all! I usually put the recipe in every post, but in this case I linked back to an old post. My links can be a little tough to spot, sorry about that. I went back and underlined the phrase “click through to my original gingerbread post” in the paragraph just above the last photo. Hope that helps!

I never thought of doing gingerbread in squares, but you know…I like it! They look so elegant somehow. Thanks for the great photo.
